San Juan joins in the commemoration of International Women's Day with a cultural program that combines art, literature, music and film to reflect on the role of women in society. The municipality is organizing several activities throughout March in collaboration with Labritja Cultural Group and the support of Consell de Ibiza and Office of the Lady.
The program begins with the inauguration of the exhibition “Homage to the naïve painters of Ibiza – 70s”, Amparo LopezAn exhibition that pays tribute to the artists associated with this distinctive painting style of the island. The exhibition can be visited at the Parish House of San Juan of the March 7 to April 5, 2026 and proposes a journey through the female gaze within this artistic movement.
El Thursday 12 of March of 2026 at 18:00h, the San Juan Municipal Library hosts the children's storyteller “Contes a l'inrevés”, By Laura Mandarina, an activity designed to challenge stereotypes through stories told from another perspective.
El Saturday 14 of March of 2026 at 19:00h, the Plenary Hall The San Juan City Hall will be the stage for the monologue “The grace of women”, performed by Encarna de las HerasThe evening will also include a musical performance with the collaboration of Sant Joan Municipal Music School.
The cultural program continues Friday 20 of March of 2026 at 18:00h ’s relationship with the poetry and music recital “…In Feminine”, Starring Mon&Marcel in the San Juan Municipal Library, a proposal that combines words and melody to pay homage to female creativity.
The cycle closes 24 March 2026 Tuesday at 19:00h in the Plenary Hall from the City Council, with the screening of the documentary “Veus proprieties. When they talk", directed by Ferran Gassiot and produced in collaboration with the Women's Office. The film gathers the testimonies of women from the island and offers a collective perspective on their experiences and demands.
