La VIII edition of the Ibiza Salt Fair it is celebrated Thursdays 17 to Sunday, October 29, 2024, organized by the San José City Council, to remind us one more year of the importance of the salt tradition in the history of Ibiza that during centuries was first industry and economic activity of the island.
Once again this year there will be plenty of interesting activities related to salt, including demonstrations of salt harvesting, tastings of traditional dishes, live music and cultural performances.
The bulk of the activities will take place over the weekend, but on Thursday and Friday there are activities to warm up the engines, such as the premiere of the documentary “Relats de Sal” or the presentation of the book “A passeig per ses Salines”, by Neus Escandell.
The highlights of the programme include:
Saturday 19 2024 October: Except for a trip to Salinas from the salt mountain at 10:00 am, all activities are focused on Sant Jordi, with craft market, workshops for children and adults, animation, cooking demonstrations, music or a popular food based on the typical Ibizan dish “bears with cabbage".
