Can Jordi Blues Station hosts in its exhibition hall «Something about me«, a collection of oil paintings by the Aragonese artist Aby Sánchez (Zaragoza, 1979). This is the first exhibition that Sánchez has offered on the island, made possible thanks to her friendship with the people of Can Jordi.
Aby Sánchez began painting as a child, self-taught, imitating her father, also a painter. Over time, the paintbrush became an escape that eventually demanded she perfect her technique, a path that led her to train at the academy of the renowned Aragonese painter Paco Lafarga, from whom she adopted her most characteristic style: paint directly on the canvas, without prior sketches.
La The music It occupies a central place in his creative universe: «It has saved me from many things, it has helped me to vent, to enjoy myself, to share"The artist herself explained, something that was already evident in her first solo exhibition, held in January 2026 at Picaraza Shop in Zaragoza, dedicated entirely to portraits of musical figures that have marked his life, from jazz and soul to punk and rock.
"Something of Me" is structured in three distinct series.Icons» brings together portraits of musicians whom Sánchez admires, such as John Coltrane, David Bowie, and Amy Winehouse.Souls"It is composed of portraits of anonymous people, in whose gestures the artist recognizes something of herself. And «Flavours» offers its own contemporary version of still life, with compositions ranging from a cocktail to everyday scenes full of color.
