Wendy Williams-Schmitz, an English painter living in San José since 1972, exhibits her works in the exhibition "Before and after", which you can visit in the culture room of Can Jeroni, in San José.
This is the first show that stars Wendy Williams-Schmitz, after 12 years without exhibiting his work in Ibizan halls. In the new works of the artist we see acchange of style and a predominance of abstract acrylics. Along with these, are exposed previous works, oil paintings inspired by the photographs of Bartolo Pazo of the fields and the people of San José.
In the words of the artist: “These paintings are also very special. They are the last of a time in my life. Now I work abstracts. I really wanted to change my style and I like the freedom and spontaneity that I have discovered in abstracts. I am delighted to have the opportunity to show the result in this exhibition ".
Between 1974 and 2008 Williams-Schmitz offered 37 solo exhibitions and participated in 11 group shows. Its mosaics and murals hang on the walls of public facilities, hotels, and private homes throughout the island.
The exhibition will be open to the public of 13 to 29 November 2020.
You can visit it from Tuesday through Sunday in time 11 to 13: 30 hours and Thursday, Friday and Saturday also 18: 30 21 hours to. Mondays it is closed. Of course, both at the inauguration and during the usual visiting hours all the security measures in force.
