This summer 2022 Ibiza welcomes CAN, Contemporary Art Now, a new fair that will fill the island with art and that is destined to become the most innovative platform where you can discover the last of the current creation, even the new languages that are emerging right now.
For five days, from 13 to the 17 of July of 2022 the island will become a meeting point for artists, art collectors, fans and personalities from the local and international cultural world.
Initiative of the cultural promoter Sergio Sancho, responsible for the Madrid fair UVNT Art Fair (Urvanity), CAN, Contemporary Art Now, will bring together in its first edition a thirty international contemporary art galleries from Europe, America and Asia, all of them at the forefront of the international art scene and carefully selected by Sasha Bogochev.
In addition, some one hundred internationally renowned artists will be present, names such as Ana Barriga, Javi Calleja, Jordi Ribes, Pablo Benzo, Stefan Rinck, Christian Rex Van Minnen, Sally Kindberg, Jake Clark, Chechu Álava, CB Hoyo, Marria Pratts, Ryan Travis Christian, Travis Fish, Julio Anaya Cabbanding, James Jarvis, Imon boy...
The fair is held in the Exhibition Center of Ibiza and will open initially at afternoons from 17:21 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., except for domingo 17 de julio that the schedule is 12 to 18 hours.
In addition to the art exhibitions, a whole series of unique parallel experiences, with events, visits to institutions or art collections, musical performances...
"We want to create connections, become a relaxed meeting. Ibiza has traditionally been a haven for artists and creators. In the sixties, there was the 'Grupo Ibiza 59' and there is a good offer of local galleries”, says Sancho. And he adds:Our objective is strengthen the alliances of international galleries with national ones. That artists from here can enter the international circuit and that those from abroad are better known in our country”.
