The company Arts and Crafts Ibiza presents "Special police station for women”, one of the most recognized works of the Spanish playwright Alberto Miralles, a key author of contemporary theatre for his critical and committed perspective.
The play, written in the 90s but still entirely relevant, presents an idea as simple as it is powerful: a police station staffed exclusively by women, created to offer a safe space to victims who don't feel heard in a traditionally male-dominated system. From there, what could be a drama transforms into a A dark comedy, full of entanglements, unexpected characters, and absurd situations. as revealing.
The setup in Ibiza is being handled by the all-female group The Cherubs, within the Arts i Oficis company, under the direction of Ramón Taboada and María Parra.
On stage, an ensemble cast made up of actresses such as Quini Adreu, Consuelo Calbet, María Rodríguez, María José Coronado, Isabel Torres or Pilar IniestaAmong other things, it constructs a story that combines rhythm, humor, and social criticism.
Beyond laughter, the work addresses issues such as gender violence, the lack of institutional resources, and social prejudices, demonstrating how humor can be a powerful tool to question reality without losing lightness or approachability.
The performance takes place on 31 March 2026 Tuesday at 20:30h at the Theatre of Can Ventosa, in Ibiza city.
