The cultural center Sa Nostra Room, located in Ibiza town, presents “Ibiza to Contrallum“, an exhibition with photographs of the city of Ibiza under the abstract and subjective gaze of Vincent Ferrer Barbany.
The show is curated by Lina Sansano and Lola Tena, who explain that these are unique images where the author "uses different resources such as superimpositions, transparencies, movements and abstractions” and thus the sample is “a authentic dream trip through the particular look of the reality of Ferrer Barbany of the city of Ibiza”.
The artist, for his part, has stated: “with these photographs I wanted to reinterpret everyday life and use movement to capture another reality” and has claimed to be inspired by authors such as Saul Leiter, Lee Friedlander, Robert Frank, Fan Ho, José Manuel Navia or Francesc Català-Roca.
The exhibition opens on Thursday August 3 2023 at 21 hours.
You can visit it from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. and from 17:30 p.m. to 20:30 p.m. until the next September 13 2023.
