"Nusos Nus”, an exhibition by the Valencian artist Empar Boix, arrives to the Sala Baleària, in Ibiza town, with a work that mixes painting and drawing as essential, direct, and profoundly human languages.
According to Fundació Baleària itself, Boix's work is mainly developed from painting and drawing, understood as tools to represent and understand the world.
In this exhibition, the artist explores the female body in a symbolic waynot as an object, but as territory of experience, memory and meaningHere the body is not a “support”: it is thought, emotion, history, and context.
The exhibition is conceived as a journey that invites us to question that classic (and very Western) duality between mind and matter.
The proposal focuses on a powerful idea: we don't think from an abstract place, we think from a body, situated in the world and shaped by life. And that, translated into visual form, becomes pieces that engage with the intimate and the social, with the personal and the collective.
Empar Boix Bernardini (Alginet, Valencia) has a career linked to solo exhibitions in various Valencian spaces, as well as performances.
