The Ibiza Town Council inaugurates «Rudolf and Andrea Eimke. Eivissa, ahir i avui"A fascinating exhibition to commemorate the 35º Anniversary of the creation of Municipal Image and Sound Archive, AISME, the first to be created in the Pitiusas and which coincided with the 150th anniversary of the official birth of photography (1839).
The sample is made up of images of the island in 1956 made by the photographer Koni Eimke and those made in 2023 its daughter Andrea. Koni Eimke, a lover of the Spanish Mediterranean, traveled to Ibiza in 1956 with his wife and his daughter Andrea and photographed many places on the island and the city. Those images were donated last year at AISME and now a selection of 40 of them is offered in this exhibition. Last year, Andrea Eimke walked the route taken with her father in the 50s to take photos of today's Ibiza, 66 years later.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 30 May 2024 at 20h in the Refectory Room from the Ibiza Town Hall.
Can visit until June 30, 2024.
Visiting hours are Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 14 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 13:30 p.m.
