the australian artist Jonny niesche (Sidney, 1972) stars in the annual summer exhibition of the La Nave Salinas Foundation, with a proposal that plays with the perception of the spectator making him the protagonist.
The old salt warehouse converted into an impressive exhibition hall next to Las Salinas beach hosts shows by great international artists such as Eva Beresin, Rafa Macarrón or Kenny Scharf every summer.
The main artist this year, Jonny niesche, create experiences playing with color and space to make the viewer think. "My job is hypnotic minimalism, even some critics talk about pop minimalism. He has a nice sensibility in general. It is not a difficult work. It is meant to be beautiful, but not superficial. I'm interested in playing with beauty and a touch of tacky that gives it a bit of rupture”, he affirms.
La music and especially the 70s and glam aesthetic they also permeate Niesche's aesthetics: "My work explores the expanded field of painting and abstraction."
Niesche works with digital images which then moves by sublimation al Sheer, a transparent fabric that he then stretches over mirrors. He has exhibited in galleries in London, New York, Vienna and Los Angeles and his work is part of important private collections around the world.
The exhibition can be visited during all summer until October 27, 2023, wednesday to sunday in time 12 a 20 Hora.
