The XXIII Popular Culture Conference of the Pitiusas, organized by the Federation of Colles de Ball and Popular Culture of Ibiza, they focus as a theme this 2024 on “The song from tradition to modernity.”
The conference is held from 8 al 16 March 2024 and within their program they include the Third edition of “Illes per la cançó”.
The evolution of the song throughout the 20th century will be analyzed through various talks with speakers from all over the Balearic Islands.
El Friday, March 8, 2024 At 20 p.m. there is a talk by Bep Cardona Truyol, of Menorca, in the Assembly Room of the former Council of Ibiza (C/ De Bes, 9, Ibiza).
El Saturday 9 of March 2024 at 19 p.m. in Cas Serres There is a presentation on “Traditional popular music: fidelity and renewal”, with the Ibizan Isidor Marí Mayans.
In addition, it celebrates III Islands per la song also in Cas Serres at 19:45 p.m., which is also part of the activities programmed by the Council of Ibiza for the Day of the Balearic Islands. It has the participation of A Romandre, traditional and current music group from Menorca; the mallorcans Biel Majoral, Miquel Brunet and Delfí Mulet; the ibicenco Isidor Mari mayans, a reference of the traditional song of Ibiza; the group Aires de Formenterencs y Maria Jose Cardona from Imarantia. They present the event Sonia Ribas and Bep Cardona Truyol.
Finally, the Saturday 16 of March 2024 at 19 hours in the former Council of Ibiza (C/ De Bes, 9, Ibiza) with a talk about traditional island songs from a pop perspective with Francesc Vicens Vidal. Also at 20 p.m. the book 'The traditional children's song to the Balearic Islands of the XXII Popular Culture Conference of the Pitiüses' with a tribute to Vicent Bufí Torres.
