El Puget Museum located in Dalt Vila presents "Blue light. “The art of drawing”, an exhibition dedicated to the Ibizan artist Narcís Puget Viñas its 150 anniversary.
In the exhibition you can see drawings made on paper by Puget Viñas, in dialogue with a selection of ceramics for domestic use of Italian and Catalan origin and from the centuries XVII and XVIII, found during excavations on the site of the old Hospital Viejo de Dalt Vila in the years 1996, 1997 and 2021. The drawings of Puget Vineyards In contrast to those made on ceramics by anonymous artisans, they talk about how the drawing can be made on different supports and with different techniques to achieve its purposes.
Most of the drawings in the sample are natural notes, where the artist tries to capture, freehand and relatively quickly, the positions and movements of the figures. There's also sketches in which he explores the framing and possible compositions for later paintings. Most are done in pencil on small pieces of various paper. There are also charcoal drawings, with a violet pencil and one with a pen. The themes are customs: street scenes, the port, cars, fishing or agricultural work, children's games, traditional clothing...
The exhibition opens on Friday 15 of March of 2024 at 18 hours.
