The auditorium of Can Ventosa presents "Monologues by Caterina Albert”, a stage production that rescues two fundamental texts from Victor Catalan, pseudonym of Albert Caterina, and brings them to the present with a direct, intimate and uncompromising staging.
On stage, the Independent Company Anna Xantal constructs a double female portrait through “Infanticide"And"Germana Pau”, two monologues that explore the Guilt, repression, and internal conflicts from a profoundly psychological perspective.
Written at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, these texts marked a turning point in Catalan literature due to their starkness and for addressing uncomfortable topics at a time when a woman could hardly sign them with her own name.
The interpretation is in charge of Julita Sanou, who plays the lead role in “The Infanticide”, and Anna Xantal Sanou, who embodies “Germana Pau”, in a demanding acting job that relies almost exclusively on the word and emotional intensity.
Angels Martinez It opts for a restrained staging, focused on the weight of the text and the strength of the performance, further reinforced by the special collaboration of Juanjo Ribera.
The function is held on Wednesday May 6 2026 at 20:30h.
Tickets they cost 10 €.
A theatrical experience that does not seek to distract, but to confront the viewer with extreme stories, marked by social pressure, female identity and irreversible decisions.
