Okuda San Miguel transforms the heart of San Antonio into a promenade of color and freedom

San Antonio City Council inaugurates international artist Okuda San Miguel's colorful intervention in the Old Town.

You can now walk through an infinite rainbow in the heart of San Antonio. Renowned urban artist Okuda San Miguel has presented his new artistic intervention on Santa Agnès street: “Endless Rainbow Walk”, a large-format project that transforms the historic West End in a vibrant walk full of color, geometry and symbolism.

La inauguration, held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, brought together neighbors, cultural representatives, authorities and to himself Okuda, who revealed his work behind a large curtain and signed his intervention with the already iconic “Star of Chaos".

The presentation began with a famous peasant and also included a payés dance exhibition, Involving Sa Colla Brisa de Portmany and the live music of Flawless.

The mural is not limited to the walls: they are 160 meters of urban art displayed on the pavement and accompanied by textile architectural candles which provide shade and create an even more enveloping atmosphere. The work combines more than 100 colors and symbolic figures created exclusively for this space, with a unprecedented painting technique in the artist's career.

“The idea is that this intervention becomes a Place of reference within the island, let people go to feel and be moved by art, as well as being inspired by the idea of freedom and diversity that I try to convey and that one walks on it making everyone participate”, explained Okuda, who worked for a month on this intervention, one of the most complex of his career.

Funded by European NextGenerationEU funds, the project is part of the urban revitalization plan promoted by the San Antonio City Council, which seeks reconvert this area with cultural and sustainable proposals and designed for a more friendly coexistence between residents and visitors.

Now, the West End is becoming an artistic hub that puts San Antonio on the international urban art map, on par with cities like Miami, Paris, and Tokyo.

And the best part is that it's open to everyone. You just have to show up and let yourself go.
