La Ibiza Town LibraryLocated in Can Ventosa, it becomes a stage for historical reflection with the presentation of «The sedition True story of the Mallorcan revolutionary Joan Baptista Picornell«, the new work of Joan Mayol Serra posted by Moll Nova Editorial.
The book brings back the figure of Joan Baptista Picornell, an 18th-century Mallorcan revolutionary linked to the enlightened and republican movements that marked a turbulent period in Spanish history.
Through rigorous research, Mayol Serra reconstructs the trajectory of a figure who was uncomfortable for those in power, whose life was marked by conspiracy, exile, and ideological struggle.
The presentation will be attended by Fanny Tur, responsible for introducing the work and contextualizing the historical and political importance of the character, in a conversation that promises to provide keys to better understand that period and its echo today.
The appointment is Friday 27 of February of 2026 at 20:00h.
The entrance is free and open until full capacity.
