The exhibition hall Can Jordi Blues Station opens its doors to a new immersion in the delicate and deeply personal universe of Romanie Sánchez Smele, one of the most beloved artists in space.
His new exhibition, “Calidesa”, brings together a collection of works where the organic paint and the surrealism they dialogue with warm light, imaginary landscapes and plant motifs that seem to spring from a fertile and constantly moving inner world.
The exhibition opens on 12 December 2025 Friday at 19 pm and can be visited until January 19, 2026.
Romanie, raised in rural Ibiza in the seventies and eighties, has developed a unique pictorial language: meticulous patterns, symbolic forms, and scenes that combine tradition, memory and spirituality.
His work stems from subconscious, from an inner listening that translates into intuitive brushstrokes that later transform into complex structures full of meaning.
His paintings, mostly small in format, function as Windows to a landscape that exciteswhere chance, introspection, and an extremely meticulous technique are mixed.
Throughout her career, which began in 2001, the artist has exhibited in Ibiza as well as in places as diverse as California, Milan, Vienna, Mallorca, the Faroe Islands or Miranda do Douro.
Always from a vital need: painting as balance, as refuge and as a form of meditation, letting the shapes and colors emerge without judgment, without haste, from a deeply personal space.
