The San José City Council once again puts solidarity in the spotlight with a new edition of Saint Joseph against Cancer, A program that brings together associations, residents, and local entities each year to raise awareness of the fight against this disease and support those who experience it firsthand, and which is celebrated from January 31 to March 29, 2026.
The aim is to raise awareness of the island's organizations working on research, awareness, prevention and care for people affected by cancer, promoting prevention, early detection and research as fundamental pillars.
This year the following associations are participating: Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Pitiusa Association for Help for People Affected by Cancer (APAAC), Elena Torres Association for research into early detection of cancer, Association of Children with Cancer ASPANOB, the Ibiza and Formentera Association Against Cancer (IFCC) and the Spanish Association Against Metastatic Breast Cancer (CMM).
In addition, Kangoo Club Ibiza, IES Algarb, Ibiza Pàdel Indoor, Artes Pavón, Associació de Dones de Cala de Bou, the Sant Jordi va de Festa commission and Aquatics Ibiza collaborate with their support for the activities.
In this edition, the heart of the event moves to Sant Jordiwhere a large open and participatory day is celebrated on Saturday 31 of January of 2026 de 10:00 a.m. to 15:30 p.m., which combines culture, sports, music and family activities.
During this main day, the square comes alive with activities for all ages: children's areas, workshops, sports activities, live music and information tables of the participating associations. You can also visit one art and sculpture exhibition from Casal Xerinol·la, enjoy a solidarity photocall and collaborate in the charity kiosk with sweets and hot chocolate Prepared by the Cala de Bou Women's Association. All of this accompanied by shows, performances, reading of the manifest institutional that gives voice to the collective commitment and concert of simple rock, Among many other things.
Other activities proposed this year include the screening of documentary 'KM0: Cancer and Life' and a round table discussion in educational centers, one solidarity climb to sa Talaia through Nordic Walking or the Sant Josep Padel Tournament against Cancerthus reinforcing its educational, sporting and social dimension
