the day Sant Antoni Net a Fons, organized by the Environment Department of the San Antonio City Council, celebrates its XNUMXst edition with the aim of raising awareness among the population about the importance of keeping the bay's seabed clean.
It was created under the auspices of underwater activity centres (fishing clubs and diving centres) and participation has been increasing year after year, allowing for the extraction and disposal of more than 20 tonnes of waste. Last year alone, 3 tonnes were extracted!
This year the event is celebrated on 2 2025 Sunday of XNUMX at 10 pm in the Moll Nou Lighthouse, at the end of the port of San Antonio.
It will have the participation of Arenal Diving, for the removal of waste from the seabed, and the GEA Group volunteers for cleaning the coastline, in addition to the collaboration of entities such as Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, Salvem sa Badia, Ports IB, GEAS of the Civil Guard, Civil Protection of Sant Antoni, Eivisub, UTE Portmany, Ca na Negreta recycling center, the Sant Antoni Agricultural Cooperative and the Protemar Aventure Association.
It is an activity open to the entire population and it will last a few 3 hours.
Of course, to participate in the cleaning of the Ocean floors you need to have the diving qualification and insurance and contact in advance with Arenal Diving. Waste removal on land will focus on the outside of the groyne and on the nearest beaches of Coves Blanques and Passeig de Ponent and they will provide you gloves and bags.
