Cala Llonga Journal in Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza

Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza present a publication that recovers the memory, identity, and human stories that have shaped Cala Llonga.

There are places that are better understood when you hear the stories of those who have lived there. That's the idea behind this project. Cala Llonga Journal, an editorial initiative driven by Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza which puts the focus on collective memory, human heritage and evolution from one of the most unique corners of the island.

The official presentation took place in Niko Al Fresco, the Japanese restaurant located in the Mondrian rooftop Ibiza, With a spectacular views over the bay of Cala Llonga. The meeting brought together residents, families historically linked to the area, representatives of the residents and owners association from some of the cove's most iconic businesses, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the project: preserve and share identity of a community with its own history.

More than a magazine, Cala Llonga Journal is a journey through the evolution of this enclave, from its origins linked to fishing, agriculture and rural life until transformation into a tourist destination. Through testimonies, images, and in-depth documentation and researchThe publication recovers personal stories that help to understand how the essence of Cala Llonga has been built over generations.

The project has been developed by Pilar Lopez, Head of Communications for the hotels and author of the publication, along with Borja Martínez, Sales and Marketing Director of the hotels of ennismore in Ibiza. For months, municipal archives, historical documentation, and testimonies from residents have been consulted to construct a narrative that respects the history of the place.

With this initiative, Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza strengthen their commitment to Cala Llonga and with an understanding of hospitality that goes beyond accommodation.

A commitment to recognize, preserve and share local historycreating a bridge between residents and visitors and offering a deeper look into the surrounding environment. Because to understand a place, sometimes all it takes is knowing the stories it holds.
