La Church of Santa Creu, in Ibiza town, hosts the December 4 Thursday of 2025at 21 pm, the opening concert of the Ciutat d'Eivissa Chamber Orchestra, a group created within the Municipal Music Board with the aim of consolidating a stable ensemble that showcases the talent of the island and brings the classical repertoire closer to the public.
The direction falls to the prestigious violinist from Ibiza. Lina Tur Bonet, Awarded the City's Gold Medal in 2017, she is one of the most acclaimed performers of her generation. Her international career has taken her to stages such as London's Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Sydney Opera House, New York's Lincoln Center, and Vienna's Musikverein. She has also received prestigious awards such as the Diapason d'Or and the Best CD of the Year award at the Japanese Grammys. Her dedication to reviving historical repertoire and her energetic performances have been praised by publications such as The Strad, Gramophone, Diapason, and Bayerische Rundfunk.
The premiere will also feature the participation of the Ibizan soloist Federico Cuevas RuizInitially trained at the Patronato de Música and later graduated with top honors from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, Cuevas specialized in historical horns at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He has collaborated with ensembles such as Le Concert des Nations, The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Freiburger Barockorchester, Concerto Köln, Das Neue Mannheimer Orchester, and the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, in addition to participating in prominent recording projects.
The concert program offers a A journey through three pillars of European classicismIt begins with the «Concerto grosso in G minor, Op. 6 no. 8 Fatto per la notte di Natale", from Archangel Corelli, an essential work of the Italian Baroque. Continue with the «Concert for horn no. 3 in E flat major, KV 447", from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Played by Federico Cuevas Ruiz, and culminates with the famous «Symphony no. 45 in F minor sostingut 'Els adeus'", of joseph haydn, an emblematic piece for its symbolism and formal audacity.
