One of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the year is back: the Fira des Gerret of Ibizathat fills the streets with Santa Eulalia of a lot of tasty recipes made with gerret, one of the richest and most typical fish of the Pitiusas, which also has great nutritional value.
The event, which is being held this 2026 su tenth edition, is sponsored by the Consell d'Eivissa and the Government of the Balearic Islands, and is organized by Santa Eulalia Town Hall, Santa Eulària Empresarial and Peix Nostrum.
The 10th Fira des Gerret was scheduled for Saturday 7 of March of 2026However, due to the forecast of rain for that date (and the fact that the rains of the preceding days have hampered the work of the fishermen), it was moved to Saturday, March 14, 2026.
As tradition dictates, the boats will dock at the port with the freshly caught gerrets, which will then be transported in carts pulled by horses and mules to the center of the village.
From midday onwards, activity will be concentrated mainly in the Sant Jaume Streetwhere you can buy fresh gerret, enjoy popular tastings and explore different exhibitions and competitions organized for the occasion.
Throughout the day, music will provide rhythm and a festive atmosphere, with live performances of several bands that will fill the streets with energy and excitement.
