– Raule, your music blends genres like flamenco, funk, and pop. How would you define your sound? How do you think it has evolved from your beginnings to "Zurdo" and this new musical phase?
Our sound is a southern sound evolved to the present, but the truth is that We have always tried to respect the sound of "Limbo" and "Zurdo"This year we've changed everything, working with Tato Latorre and using sounds we never would have used, but we're really delighted with the result.
– Your musical approach features a strong fusion of genres, heavily rooted in flamenco, but with touches of funk and some songs that are almost entirely pop. How would you define your sound? And how do you think it's evolved from your early days to this new Dopamina tour?
The music that I have heard It has always had those nuances of funk, flamenco, and rock.…and little by little, inside my head, I've been creating a hybrid of all the styles and ideas we had in our hands, and it's ended up producing this type of music we make now.
– Within this fusion of genres that characterizes you so much, is there one you feel most comfortable with or that best represents you? Would flamenco be your preference?
The genres where I feel most comfortable are obviously flamenco, funk and hip hopThese are the genres I've listened to the most throughout my life. Everyone around me listens to these genres, and I ended up becoming immersed in this music as well, gradually incorporating it into my songs.
– What genre have you not yet explored and would you feel would be a challenge to embark on in the future?
Well, I still have heavy metal, classic… (laughs). I don't know, honestly. I don't think I'll move much from where I am., is where I have found comfort after so many years trying pop or flamenco, now is when I made my own dose and it's the one I like..
– How do you work on creating a new song? Is it spontaneous, or do you usually have a defined structure to your creative process?
To compose I usually make schedules, generally at night because I am quite nocturnalI always try to write the lyrics first and then shape them from there. I have no neither a key recipe for making my songsMaybe one day I feel like doing the chorus, another day I'll do the verse, another day the bridge... and that's usually my methodology.
– Are there any artists or musical movements that have particularly influenced you throughout your career? How do you find inspiration when composing?
My favorite artists are Resident and Jorge DrexlerI think they're the two most powerful writers on the market right now, from my perspective. I've probably picked up a reference from them at some point in my life.
– You're returning to Las Dalias after your last visit in 2023. What memories do you have of this iconic venue on the island, and what makes the experience of playing there so special?
For me, Las Dalias is something incredible, wonderful, it reminds me a lot of some areas of Cádiz: El Palmar, Vejer, Los Caños... that whole area. It reminds me of my houseThat's why every time I come to Las Dalias I feel so comfortable and I can be so myself that every time I return to For me, Las Dalias is the best thing on the island.. Plus, it's kind of like me, which makes me very happy to be back.
– Ibiza is a place full of energy and creativity. What does the island mean to you?
A bit like what I was saying earlier. I feel very identified with Las Dalias because I feel at home., has that essence that, for me, means being home. When you arrive at a place that feels like you've been before and never knew before, it's truly incredible.
– On Thursday, many fans will be meeting you with this Dopamine tour, which you haven't presented yet on the island. What can you tell all those fans who will be coming on Thursday about what they'll find?
What you are going to find is going to be fun, they're going to laugh, they're going to cry possibly with some song, we are going to dance a lot, and above all let's singWe're going to be engaging with the public a lot. This is what we like most; the place is crying out for something special. very special and very intimate, and the truth is that I am delighted to be able to return to Las Dalias.
