El Ibiza International Music Festival celebrates its 1st edition XXVI of the August 14 to 24, 2025 at the San Carlos Parish Center, established as one of the island's most prominent musical events. This year, the event coincides with the 38th anniversary of the San Carlos Cultural Center, a key institution in the cultural life of the area since 1987.
The program includes eight unique concerts, some of them free, with offerings ranging from world premieres to island debuts, a platform for young local talent, works written by female composers, and a musical journey from the Baroque to the present day.
The opening will be on Thursday August 14 at 21 pm with the pianist David Gómez, who will offer his first concert in Ibiza with the format “1 piano and 2000 candles”, an emotional journey through his nine albums, from «The Island» (2013) to «VIDDÄ» (2024).
El Friday August 15, also to the 21 pm, will surrender tribute to Vera Sykora, a pioneer in music education on the island. Some of its most outstanding students will participate, such as Borja Gil Tur, Lucía Herranz, Nicoleta Mirca and Elvira Ramón, among others. Both concerts are Services.
El Saturday August 16, the cellist Monica Marí and the pianist Caroline Santiago will present «Subversives«, a recital focused on 20th century female composers such as Elizabeth Maconchy, María Teresa Prieto and Dora Pejačević, a proposal never before seen at the festival.
El Sunday 17 August, the organist Arthur Beard will perform pieces by Cabanilles, Bach, Philip Glass and others, with premieres in Ibiza.
The festival resumes on Thursday August 21 with the teacher Antonio Baciero, which is giving its world premiere to a programme about the relationship between Beethoven and Archduke Rudolf, including previously unpublished works by Rudolf himself and Köchel.
El Friday August 22, the pianist Mary Wu will perform alongside her sisters Enloc and Melody in a peculiar six-hand piano formation, with repertoire by Holst, Poulenc and Rachmaninov, among others.
Young talent will take the stage on Saturday August 23 with the pianist Carla Román, Winner First Youth Prize of the 2023 Contest, who will make her Ibiza debut at just 17 years old and with more than 20 awards under her belt.
The closing ceremony will be on Sunday 24 August Alexandre Lutz, First Prize of the 2023 Contestwho will perform works by Ravel, Schubert, Liszt and Debussy, and will present his album "Beauty upon beauty".
The concerts all start at 21 pm, have an estimated duration of 60 to 70 minutes without interval, and except for the first two days, they have a donation of 5 euros. The under 18 years enter for free.
In addition, the festival is organized together with the XXVI Ibiza International Piano Competition, which is celebrated from 26 to August 31, also in San Carlos, and in which young talents from all over the world will compete.
