The third annual edition ofthe International Festival Jazz Point Ibizawill once again bring some of the most important artists of the international jazz scene to the island.
A great musical date created by David Moss and Adam Lenox, Ibiza Music Agency, together with Joel Chriss Productions, in New York, which is celebrated on 13 to 16 October 2022, with an impressive lineup of groups and artists.
The contest starts the 13 October 2022 Thursday with an exquisite musical dinner at Pikes Ibiza which can only be attended by reservation and in which you can enjoy the talent of Leïla Duclos & Friends. Leila is a rising star in the world of vocal jazz with a captivating, smooth and deep voice, as well as a modern master of scat. Next to her will be Gilles Coquard To the bass, Jean My Truong to the battery, Antonio Figura to the keyboard, and the poly-instrumentalist Dr David Schroeder with woodwind instruments.
The main evenings of the festival are held in the central concert hall Teatro Ibiza el Friday 14 and Saturday 15 2022 October, an emblematic venue on the live music scene that has taken over from the now-defunct Teatro Pereyra.
El Friday 14 2022 October at 21 hours we can enjoy a great jazz performance of the best quality with the Jesse van Ruller Quintet, formed by the guitar master jessie van ruller, winner, among others, of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Award, the Dutch saxophonist Tineke Postma, named European Musician of the Year 2020 by the French Académie du Jazz, the renowned Barcelona bassist Manel Fortia, Marc miralta to the battery and George Roelofs with the bass clarinet.
El Saturday, October 15, 2022 also at 21 p.m. It's the turn of the Felix Rossy Sextet, with that unique sound that is key to a true legend like Félix Rossy on the trumpet, accompanied by the great Henry Oliver to the saxophone, by the renowned pianist Toni Saigi to the keyboard, Tomeu Garcias with its smooth trombone sound, from the world-class drummer Andrew Pitarch and the talented bassist Ben Tiberius.
The culmination of the festival is the concert on Sunday 16 2022 October at noon in the Conservatori Catalina Bufi in Ibiza town with two of Thursday's international stars, David Schroeder and Antonio Figura, The popular Muriel Grossmann Quartet from Ibiza, and the Polish Alina Bzhezhinska to the harp for a transcendental musical experience.
For those who want to keep the party going, there will be a Closing Party on Sunday 16 October at 17:00, at WOM Radio Cafe in Santa Eulalia. Join the celebration and enjoy “The Giants of Jazz Jam Session” featuring many of our headliners.
In addition to these incredible concerts, Jazz Point Ibiza organizes various Master Classes with its star artists for local musicians the Saturday 15 of October 2022 from the 12 hours, are open sessions in which teachers will share their knowledge of jazz and the art of performance at the highest level.
The festival has the support of the Consell de Ibiza, Eivissa Cultural, Ibiza Illes Baleares, the Ibiza Town Hall and the Conservatori Catalina Bufí.
