Edson Zardo is one of the most popular public relations in Ibiza. In addition to being part of La Troya for years, this season joins the team of Lolas Ibiza
Work often accumulates, however, that is not a problem for Edson Zardo, Unlike! Zardo, one of the best-known public relations of the ibicencan night scene and host of The Troy, he has achieved that to which many aspire and few get: to enjoy 100% of his work.
Edson tells us in this interview his beginnings, how he has become an essential of the night in Ibiza and his latest projects, among which are the opening of the renewed club Lolas this Friday 17 of May of 2019. All with the spark and brazenness that characterize him, qualities that immediately attract the attention of any mortal, the best feature of a public relations!
- How was your foray into the world of the night?
I arrived in Madrid at 1999, when the afters were still legal, do you remember that time? My first contact with the night was with the company of Julio Alexis, who supplied the best clubs with everything that needed a party to be a success. This is how I got to know the most popular places and the most important parties, those that attracted audiences from all over the world. After four years in animation, I worked as public relations at Real Café Bernabeu.
-What amazed you most about the party in Spain?
I remember the first time I went through the door of the Space of Sound in Madrid. They were the 11 of a Sunday, time of the mass! And the line was already long! So they can say that the Brazilians spent the day sambando! That was one of the things that made me fall in love with this country.
-What brought you to Ibiza?
The first time I came was in 2006, when La Troya was made in the Space nightclub I still remember the people, the music, their characters and, above all, the welcome they gave me. They invited me to come in and when I met everyone who was in charge of the party, I thought: "One day I want to be part of this". And look, it seems that if you want something really, life gives it to you.
- How did you start working with them?
Ten years after that, right at the closing of Space, the Grand Master of the Ibiza night, Brasilio de Olivera, offered to make my dream of being part of La Troya come true. Now I am lucky to be the public relations that welcomes the public!
-In addition to your work in La Troya, you have the odd project more ...
Yes. Ibiza always gives you new surprises and opportunities and this year I am going to dedicate myself to rescue a classic on the island: the disco Lolas and the terrace Lolitas.
-What has changed in the mythical Lolas?
We have renewed it completely. The decoration, the lighting, the effects and the sound. We are going to count on the collaboration of characters from the Ibiza like the Dj-Performer-Producer Thiscy Mura, my partner in this project, and Dj's from the category of Xavi Emparan (Ibiza Global Radio) or LIPOUS (Eleveh Records).
-What is what most excites you about this new project?
The fact of giving opportunities to artists and DJs on the island in an open space accessible to everyone. Lolas is a club where you do not have to sell your apartment, ask for a loan or steal a bank to have fun ha ha ha
-When can we enjoy the new Lolas?
This Friday 17 of May is the pre-opening of the Lolas'House party and on Saturday 18 of the Deep Nigths in Villa.
-I'm sure you have some other "sarao" in mind ...
Clear! On Wednesday, May 29, La Troya returns to Heart Ibiza!
Apart from this, I am preparing together with Tischy a session for Sundays in the pool of Hotel Axel Ibiza. Good music, food, cocktails, good vibes and one of the best sunsets on the island. What more could you want?
