six senses ibiza has been awarded the prize in the category Environment across II Awards 'Traveling for Happiness Awards' to the best national and international practices in the tourism sector, which deliver the Hotel Business Association of Madrid (AEHM) and the consultant connecting heads.
This is the second recognition that Six Senses Ibiza receives this year for its commitment to the environment and sustainability, after being recognized in Fitur with the Re Think Hotel Award as the best hotel sustainability and rehabilitation project executed in 2021.
As highlighted by the executive vice president of AEHM, Michael's Sea, these awards “enhance and recognize the best practices of those who create happiness, so necessary every day through social and environmental work".
The jury, made up of big names from the world of tourism such as the secretary general of the UNWTO and the business world, has valued the solutions provided by the Portinatx resort “in terms of global sustainability, understood as the conservation of the environment, the use of eco-suppliers, recycling and selective waste management, efficiency of the installations, the integration of renewable energy and training of employees on environmental issues, among other issues that ensure maximum respect for the environment in the hotel industry".
The gala was held at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Hotel and was attended by personalities from the tourism, business, social and institutional sectors, including the president of AEHM, Gabriel García Alonso; the director of Turespaña, Miguel Ángel Sanz; the president of the Hotel Technological Institute, Francisco Javier Cuenca; or the deputy mayor of Madrid Begoña Villacís, among others.
