La Casita Verde de Ibiza is a unique center on the island where study and apply permaculture techniques, that is, a sustainable system which integrates the housing and landscape in a harmonic way. In their development they have saved materials, they have focused on preserve resources that they obtain from nature and produce less waste. The result of this project is a beautiful villa in the heart of the island, surrounded by the most authentic Ibizan countryside and overlooking the sea. It could be said that it serves as the base of operations of the Ibiza Ecologic Association, ecological and educational center in which its volunteers teach visitors how to lead a sustainable life and the use of alternative energies.
From foundation in 1993, the Green House is gone self financing receiving assistance from organizations such as 'Foundation for the Future' and, above all, through the Donations that collect and also organize school visits and they receive some private donation from their collaborators.
Around the Casita have already passed 450 volunteers from all over the world, as well as people interested in joining this way of life that is based on caring for nature and taking advantage of the resources it offers us. If you want to know more about this peculiar place, every Sunday its founder, Chris Dews, makes a tour of the farm in which he shows you each and every one of the achievements that they have managed to accomplish only through the action of their volunteers and the aids they receive. You can contemplate your little house built with bottles, its rainwater shower, stroll through their Aloe Vera gardens and even take a healthy snack, of course, homemade and vegetarian.
Of course, its name refers to green, it agrees perfectly with this wonderful enclave since everything in it leads you to think about that color. The magic that gives off will catch you from the first moment and will fill you with good energies. How to get to
You'll make it easier from San Antonio. Take the highway towards Ibiza until you reach the Fire Station and the restaurant 'Dos Lunas' is from San Antonio. Go up these roads after 100 meters turn left. After completing about six kilometers, go down about 400 meters and you will see a yellow sign indicating the direction to the farm.
