ibicine, el Ibiza Film Festival created and directed by Helher Escribano, celebrates its IX edition.

This is an important cultural event that has received recognition from the UNESCO, Business Award for Best Festival of the Balearic Islands, and that it is a Qualifying Festival for the Goya Awards.

The 2026 edition promises to be the most ambitious to date, with screenings, meetings with professionals, activities for all audiences and a clear commitment to Capabilities and a program that unfolds from the January 7 to April 11, 2026.

Official Short Film Section

The competition opens at the beginning of the year and is held every Wednesday of the January 7 to February 11, 2026 in the auditorium of the cultural center of Can Windy, in Ibiza town. All the information HERE.

Official Section of Feature Films

It is celebrated every Wednesday, February 18 to Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the Theater Spain of Santa Eulalia and in the Cinema Regio From San Antonio, with great films like "In Silence," "Gioia," "Arco," "Private Life," "Want to Live," and "Here Come the Dogs." All the information HERE.

Final week of Ibicine

From 8 to the 11 of April of 2026The island hosts a full program of activities in the final stretch of Ibicine that combines training, networking and reflection about the present and future of cinema.

Among the major milestones of this edition, the launch of first IBICINE ScriptLAB from April 8 to 11, 2026, a screenwriting lab-residence aimed at feature-length fiction films, both live-action and animated, which takes place in the Ocean Drive Hotel Talamanca, official venue of the festival.

Five selected projects receive mentoring, workshops and personalized sessions with top-level professionals like the producer Luis Manso (winner of several Goya Awards) or the screenwriter Jorge Naranjoconsolidating this space as a firm commitment to the development of new stories.

In parallel, the Ibiza Film Campus Celebrates his fourth edition from April 8 to 11, 2026reaffirming its position as one of the most unique educational programs in the country. Under the guidance of the actor, director, and teacher Juan López-Tagleand with the participation of the actress and creator Nadia from SantiagoThis intensive program brings together actors, directors, and screenwriters in an experience that combines practical work, research, and direct contact with the industry. The Campus is run by the Ibiza Film School and coordinated by the actress and producer. Barbara Hermosilla.

The programming is completed with professional meetings and activities open to the public which add depth to the festival. From the round table “Current cinema”with figures such as the Austrian critic Barbara Gasser or the producer Jorge Stamadianos, until talk “Sorrentino Experience” which brings the gaze of contemporary European cinema closer to Ibiza.

In addition, there will be a screening of the documentary «I am your father", directed by Tony Bestard, Astarté Award of Honor Balearic Talent 2026, consolidating the connection between the festival and local talent.

One of the most anticipated moments is also the Short Film Audience Finals el Thursday 9 of April of 2026 at the Cinema Regio From San Antonio, which brings together six outstanding titles from the national circuit, including "Sex at 70," directed by Vanesa Romero and nominated for a 2026 Goya Award, and "Carmela," nominated in the animation category. A selection that reflects the level and creative diversity that characterizes Ibicine.

The festival also addresses key issues in the current sector, as demonstrated by conference on copyright and artificial intelligence taught by experts from Visual in Lawor the presentation of initiatives from entities such as EGEDA, reinforcing its role as a space for dialogue and professional development.

Astarté Awards Gala

This entire journey culminates in Saturday 11 of April of 2026 with the expected Astarté Awards Gala, which is being held at the Cultural Center Can Ventosa at 18:30h and that this year is inspired by the universe.
