The Ibiza Cinefest Celebrates his Edition 10 establishing itself as one of the most important cultural events in the audiovisual scene in the Balearic Islands.
From Friday February 20 to Sunday, March 1, 2026The island hosts a wide selection of feature films, short films and national and international premieres that have never been screened before in Ibiza, with special attention to contemporary cinema, auteur narratives and emerging cinematic voices.
The festival takes place in 10 venues spread over the five municipalities on the islandcomplementing the in-person screenings with a online version on the platform The filmThis allows viewers to follow part of the program from anywhere in Spain. This territorial and digital expansion reinforces the festival's objective of bringing quality cinema to a broad and diverse audience.
This edition is already being advertised as the opening film «Pheasant Island", with its Balearic premiere within the festival, and with the confirmed presence of Asier Urbieta (director) and Joan Fontcuberta during the first weekend.
In addition to its film programming, IBZCF maintains its more "lively" side: activities for professionals and the public such as Slow Cinema workshop-residency, industry meetingsa (including THB Networking), distribution initiatives #WithAPack, screenwriting contestproposals regarding filming on the island and training/educational activities.
This year it is a contest again short film qualifier for the Goya AwardsTherefore, this format will occupy a prominent place in the programming, with sections of national and international short films.
The festival, organized by the filmmaker Xavi Herrero, is the opportunity to contemplate different, provocative, risky, original, independent, committed or author's audiovisual works.
