The restaurant El Naranjo Santa Eulalia hosts the first painting exhibition of the Ibizan Marga Guasch, under the title "Carpe Diem".
The sample consists of a set of nine large-format and bright material works, most abstract, which have also been all elaborated "ex profeso" for this exhibition space from which, since 2012, its managers Javier and Veronica they try to spread the works of painters settled in the Pitiusas.
In the works on display, the importance of texture and color, These are highly material and textured works, made in bright and cheerful colors that invite to enjoy the moment, as the title of the exhibition alludes to.
In an attempt to get closer to nature, Guasch uses materials such as plaster, lime, organic pigments, grains of sand, seashells, grains of quartz, shellac or gold leaf. Two large collages representing the seabed open and close the exhibition.
Marga Guasch Mari, a native of Santa Eulalia, studied conservation and restoration of painting in Barcelona (2003) with Benoît of Tâpol, restorer chemist at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. He also studied expertise and appraisal of painting and furniture (2005) and restoration of antique furniture (2006). She has a degree in Art History (2015) and a Master's in Heritage Conservation (2019), whose final project consisted of a conservation plan and enhancement of the Church of Puig de Missa de Santa Eulalia.
The exhibition "Carpe Diem" will be open to the public from Friday, October 30, 2020 until January 10, 2021.
Because of the situation derived from the Covid-19 pandemic no vernissage will be held of the sample.
