The New York art collector Lio Malca brings you a new exhibition of international stature this summer 2019 to the beautiful exhibition space of The Salinas Ship managed by Malca, on this occasion the artist Kenny Scharf
Kenny Scharf (Hollywood, 1958) is one of the great living legends of contemporary art and one of the greatest exponents of American Art, in addition to inventor of American Pop Surrealism. Scharf settled in New York at the end of the 70 years and became friends with greats such as Keith Haring or Basquiat when he attended photo-realistic painting, airbrushing, video creation and editing, photography and collage classes at the School of Visual Arts.
Submerged since childhood in the aesthetics of the 50 and 60 years, television, advertising and the first cartoons, Kenny Scharf was deeply interested in the underground comics and graffiti upon arriving in New York, and soon approached the pop and surrealism.
He is currently working on murals, paintings, sculptures and installations and his interventions and customizations of objects such as old planes or cars are famous.
The exhibition at La Nave Salinas is a large-scale assembly of his most recent pictorial work that will allow you to get closer to the naughty, sarcastic and deep creative universe of this important artist. All this in addition, in an environment of unsurpassed beauty.
The exhibition opens on Saturday 15 2019 June de 9 to 23 hours. You can visit her de Tuesday through Sunday de 10 to 22 hours until September 30 2019.
Also, at the end of the summer the exhibition has been extended until Friday 18th October 2019 with new schedule: Monday to Saturday from 10 to 18 hours. You have no excuses to miss it!
