El Institut d'Estudis Eivissencs commemorate their 50 years history with an interesting retrospective exhibition entitled "Institut d'Estudis Eivissencs, 50 years in Catalan", what can you visit at Sa Nostra Room, in Ibiza city.
The exhibition is divided into several sections, in which it is explained what it is and what work does it do the Institute. The first section shows what is the IEE and its objectives as a dynamic entity of the culture and language of Ibiza. In addition, the following sections show its history, characters most significant that have passed through the entity, the activities that it carries out (focused on language, land and culture) and what future is wanted for the IEE.
El IEEE It was created by the Ibiza Town Hall in 1949. It was active for about 10 years until around 1960 it lost steam until it became an almost forgotten entity. However, in 1970 a group of young intellectuals including Josep Marí, Isidor Marí, Marià Serra, Cristòfol Guerau d'Arellano, Pere Planells or Toni Roca, with the support of some of the original founders, especially from Maria Villangomez, they managed to revive the entity, orienting it to the Catalan language and giving it a new impetus.
The exhibition can be visited from Monday, October 19, 2020 to Monday, November 30, 2020. The room opens from Monday to Friday in time 11 to 14 hours and from 17 to 20: 30 hours.
Parallel activities of the exhibition
During the duration of the exhibition there will be some Parallel activities, such as the General Assembly of partners, the presentation of book "Do not be afraid", the presentation of catalog of the exhibition, a tribute concert to the founders of the IEE in charge of Balearic Symphony Orchestra, or the inauguration of XLVI Ibizan Course of Culture, titled this year "Epidemics and pandemics: reflections from the Pitiusas in 2020".
