However, during the confinement in Ibiza, as in the rest of Spain, we have seen the number of initiatives of individuals, companies, administrations and various groups destined to support each other, help those who were having the worst and make the crisis a little more bearable.
We bring you some examples of this great wave of solidarity, creativity, the desire to lend a hand to others and the will to overcome this unusual situation together.
-The Consell de Ibiza and the 5 municipalities from the island they agreed reduce and delay the collection of taxes and tributes during confinement to help businesses and families on the island. They also asked the Government not to raise the cost of basic services such as water this year. Municipalities suspended their blue parking areas payment during confinement. In addition, both Consell and the municipalities launched a series of financial aid to rent, to companies and the self-employed, to students, etc.
-Administrations have also created a lot of cultural content, online resources, training and exercise programs from home and much more. In this way, they have helped citizens to stay fit, active, entertained and informed. -The citizen platform Ibiza with you has donated 13.000 euros to Santa Eulalia with You to assist them in their work of preparing social and solidarity menus that they distribute daily to those who need it. Every day they help more than 40 families with nutritious and solidary menus at home, also delivering drawings of children from all over the island to provide one more point of color and hope. In addition, Ibiza Contigo has invested another 72.000 euros in purchase of medical supplies for workers in health centers, residences, juvenile centers, the police and even for airport staff.
-Many Entrepreneurs and individuals in Ibiza have turned to health centers and workers toilets, which have received all kinds of details and help, from food to medical supplies, including chocolates or personalized cookies.
